Willkommen im Forum

Liebe Besucher,
Liebe Devotees,

Part 1

Vishvanath Chakravarthi Thakur says mat darshanadi madhurya … guhyamane brahma sayujyasya aroj katvam utpadye [?] - this dislike for brahma-sayujya (merging into Brahman) it happens because of wonderful experience of the sweetness of Shri Bhagavan‘s beauty. When one experiences the beauty of Shri Bhagavan, then there is absolutely no desire that one wants to merge into Brahman. This desire is not there even to begin with! As Rupa Gosvami said earlier, a devotee does not desire anything. He was saying that these four types of devotees in Bhagavad Gita they are at the stage prior to taking to pure devotion. And Jiva Gosvami has commented on this verse that even a sadhaka does not have desire, what to speak of someone who has become perfect. So there is such wonderful experience in the heart of a devotee that this brahma-sayujya is completely insignificant.

Darshaniya ati mano hara … shri Krishna ramadi … darshaniyavayavair - means beautiful limbs of Shri Bhagavan‘s body such as in the form of Shri Krishna or Shri Rama. … mano hara … - and with these bodily limbs Shri Bhagavan performs various pastimes and He smiles, He looks at his devotees and He speaks very enchanting words. All these things are very generous in the sense that they absolutely capture the heart of a devotee. And thus bhaktir anunim gatir … kurute - bhakti creates absolutely no desire in the heart of a devotee, not even for liberation, and steals away the heart and senses. chaturshu dharma artha kama moksha … durlabha - because:

What is unavailable for a devotee?

Among dharma [religious life], artha [wealth], kama [sense pleasures] or moksha [liberation] - whatever he wants, it is available to him. But Shri Bhagavan Himself is available to the devotee - then what to speak of anything else? So why desire that which is available without asking? You desire something which you do not have, when you need it. First of all, the devotees don‘t need it, and secondly, they already have it. Because when bhakti is there, then all the purusharthas [goals of life] are following her. They come naturally, and therefore there is no need for asking.

To stress this point, Rupa Gosvami further says: shri krishna bhojanam charanam seva nirvritta chetasam … moksha bhaktanam … spriha bhavet - He says that the devotees whose mind is completely absorbed in the service to the lotus feet of Shri Bhagavan, they never, ever have a desire for moksha - any type of moksha [liberation]. This is impossible for them. Because bhakti means anukulyena krishnanu shilanam [acting for the welfare of Krishna] and it comes along with anyabhilashita shunyam [freedom from any other desire]. So if the person is fully devoted, fully surrendered, then how he is going to steal?

It is like you are living in your own house
and from that you want to steal something
- what is the point?

If you have surrendered to Shri Bhagavan and He has accepted you, what is the point that now you want something from one place to another place? It all belongs to Shri Bhagavan and you are His servant, and whatever is your need it will be taken care of. You are completely satisfied - seva nirvritta chetasam. The mind is absolutely satisfied. This question was asked by Shaunaka Rishi to Suta Gosvami, yenātmā suprasīdati:

What is that one thing which satisfies atma?

Atma means mind. When we say soul here in the conditioned state, it means mind, because all the experiences are through the mind. And disturbance also comes through the mind.

Which completely satisfies“ - there are many things people can do in the material world for the satisfaction of the mind. And more and more things are being invented to satisfy the mind. But it doesn‘t get satisfied, whether it is wealth or food or travel or relations with the opposite sex, the mind remains dissatisfied.

The only thing
which completely satisfies the mind is
shri krishna bhojanam charanam seva nirvritta
- the happiness which comes from serving
the feet of Shri Bhagavan.

This is the basic philosophy of Bhagavata Purana. Ahaituky apratihata yenatma suprasidati - this causeless, unobstructed devotion gives complete satisfaction, samprasad. And according to the situation, there is no desire for moksha. Esham mokshaya bhaktanam na kadafi [?] - such devotees they never, ever have spriha, desire for moksha.
