Gaura Purnima
(As a result of severe colds and lack of time this time only very briefly. Also the new calendar I will probably not make before the weekend, sorry)
Today, 532 years ago in India (Bengal), Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Krishna's avatar of divine love, appeared. No incarnation is more generous than He. The key to the supreme happiness He has given to us as the Holy Names of Shri Krishna, the Maha-Mantra.
This name is top secret and confidential, yet freely accessible to everyone. The Holy Name unfolds its full power only through the grace of the guru. And even then only in combination with HUMILITY.
This is the essence of the teachings of Shri Chaitanya, the Third of His Eight Teachings:
tṛṇād api su-nīcena
taror iva sahiṣṇunā
amāninā māna-dena
kīrtanīyaḥ sadā hariḥ
One who thinks himself lower than the grass, who is more tolerant than a tree, and who does not expect personal honor yet is always prepared to give all respect to others can very easily always chant the Holy Name of the Lord.
Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta Adi-lila 17.31
Jai Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu!
