Liebe Besucher,
Liebe Devotees,

Dezember 2020, 17:59 Uhr
api cet su-durācāro bhajate mām ananya-bhāk
sādhur eva sa mantavyaḥ samyag vyavasito hi saḥIf a person, who although exceedingly ill-behaved, is imbued with exclusive devotion and worships Me, he should be regarded as indeed virtuous, for he is rightly resolved.
kṣipraṁ bhavati dharmātmā śaśvac-chāntiṁ nigacchati
kaunteya pratijānīhi na me bhaktaḥ praṇaśyatiVery quickly he becomes righteous-minded and attains eternal peace. O son of Kunti, proclaim it boldly that My devotee never perishes.
- Bhagavad-Gītā 9.30-31
(English translation by HH Shri Babaji Maharaja)
From the commentary by Shri Baladeva Vidyabhusana
(Translation into English by HH Bhanu Swami)„It is said:
nāvirato duścaritānnāśānto nāsamāhitaḥ |
nāśāntamānaso vāpi prajñānenainamāpnuyātHe who has not given up evil deeds, who is not peaceful or in control of his senses or mind, cannot attain the Lord, even through knowledge.
- Katha Upaniṣad 1.2.24
"How then can You consider them proper, if the scriptures condemn such sinful persons?“
„That statement you have quoted concerns persons whose very nature is sinful. But the person who exclusively worships Me is purified by his incidental sinful acts by Me, the Lord of all beings, who am most purifying, because I hold that devotee in My mind. He then very quickly becomes steady in proper conduct (dharmātmā). Continually repenting his previous acts (śaśvat), he attains (nigacchati) complete cessation (śāntim) of all those sinful acts which are obstacles to remembering Me. “
„The smārtas will not consider such a person proper if he/she has not performed atonement rites.“
Controlled by attraction to His devotee, Śrī Bhagavān then replies with slight anger:
„O son of Kunti! Going to that assembly of smārtas, declare:
„My exclusive devotee, if he commits sinful acts out of negligence, is not destroyed. He does not become separated from Me and does not meet with misfortune. Rather, purified by Me, who am most purifying, he shines with qualification to attain Me. The smṛtis say:sva-pāda-mūlam bhajataḥ priyasya tyaktānya-bhāvasya hariḥ pareśaḥ
vikarma yac cotpatitaṁ kathañcid dhunoti sarvaṁ hṛdi sanniviṣṭaḥOne who has thus given up all other engagements and who has taken full shelter at the lotus feet of Śri Hari, is very dear to Him. Indeed, if such a surrendered soul accidentally commits some sinful activity, Paramātma who is situated within everyone's heart, immediately takes away the reaction to such sin.
- Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 11.5.42
What was said relates to smārta atonement, which is meant for those following smārta rules – persons other than My devotees. But remembrance of Me is the most powerful atonement.“
