Liebe Besucher,
Liebe Devotees,

Sadhus Travelling by Train
Zitat von Vedanta am 3. Oktober 2018, 16:24 UhrSadhus travelling by train
HH Shri Satyanarayana Dasa BabajiIf you beg from somebody, you have to face insult. Especially nowadays, when generally there is no respect for saintly people. I was just reading in one magazine yesterday that somebody was recounting his experience. There was one sadhu who got into a train. So one man there was nicely dressed, he was standing, and as soon as he looked at the sadhu he started abusing him. He said,
“Just see this man! He is so fat, he does nothing, because he just begs and eats and therefore he is healthy. And these people are just spoiling our country in the name of religion. They don’t work, they are lazy and just like parasites they live on others’ wealth. And then they travel without ticket!”
Because mostly, the sadhus in India don’t buy a ticket [Babaji laughing]. If you are wearing a sadhu dress, it is a license to travel without ticket.
“And people like us they get into trouble, we have to bear the burden of them in society”.
Like this, he was going on and on, criticizing him. Yet the sadhu was standing quietly, not reacting at all, just listening to him.
After some time, the TK [Ṭikaṭa kalakṭara, ticket collector] came. And as soon as he entered into the compartment, this man who was talking so much, he started getting fidgety and starting looking this way and that way, because he actually had no ticket himself [everybody laughing aloud]! And TK are expert, they immediately know who is not having a ticket. So very quickly he caught him and said, “Show me your ticket!”. He didn’t ask the sadhu. So this man had no ticket and he was just putting his hands in this pocket, that pocket … “where is my ticket?” … trying to show as if he had lost it. But he had no ticket. So this fellow was feeling very ashamed.
Then the sadhu took out his ticket and said, “His ticket is actually with me”. When he said like this, this TK looked at the sadhu and he recognized him because he was some famous sadhu and said, “Oh Maharaja, you are here!” He fell at his feet and then said, “Come, I will take you to the 1st Class compartment [everybody laughing in the audience] ... and give your ticket to him.” So he gave his ticket to this man and the TK took the sadhu to the 1st Class compartment. Like that, so many times, saintly people have to face insult. [...]
Actually after that, this man became so ashamed that he fell at the feet of the sadhu and started begging forgivance. And this sadhu was really some great person and asked,
“Why are you asking forgivance? I have not done anything.”
Man: “No you have helped me.”
Sadhu: “No, you have not done anything wrong so there is no need to beg forgivance and I have not done anything for you.”
Man: “But I was always insulting you.”
Sadhu: “The thing is that you were following your nature, I was following my nature. You did not transgress your nature, I did not transgress my nature. There is nothing great I have done.”
[Everybody happily laughing].
